What Can I Expect

What can one expect when coming to church?  This question can certainly be a difficult question, but we at Grace Baptist Church want to make it a question that one needs not to be concerned with.  Our goal is to make our church an enjoyable time that one may know after the service that they are welcome, cared for, edified, encouraged, and have been challenged by the Word of God.  Church should be a huge part of our lives and we want the friendly and encouraging spirit of Grace Baptist Church help one look forward to come to church instead of trying to find a way to get out of coming. Many questions surround coming to a church for the first time.  We have answered some common questions below and hope this assures you that we want and strive to care for you and your family.

How can I find Grace Baptist Church?gbc logos-color

Grace Baptist Church is conveniently and easily accessible just north of Enfield Town (Southbury Road)  between Baker Street and Willow Road on Churchbury Lane.  Many buses stop within a few minutes of Chace Community School (our meeting place) and the East Anglia train at Enfield Town stops within a few minutes of where we meet.  Check out our Directions & Maps page for further information.  In front of the school you will see a sign pointing into the car park area.  Come to the blue automatic doors and you will see our Pastor or a member of our church greeting folks and directing them just around the corner to the hall where we meet.

How should I dress?

There is no dress code for the members or guests of Grace Baptist Church.  Our members wear mostly what would be considered “business” or “business casual” dress.  Pastor, his family, other ministry leaders, and many members wear what could be called their “Sunday best”; however, we want you to feel comfortable and welcome at any service here at GBC.

What about my children?

Families are one of the main focuses of our ministry and we highly encourage you to bring your children along.  Creche is available for those 3 years of age and under.  Junior church will be implemented in November 2009.  A Wednesday night children’s program will be available as well in November 2009.  We are just starting the church so there WILL be MANY activities for the children to be a part of so please be patient as we get things started in the coming months.

What are the services like?

Our services are held in the school hall of Chace Community school.  Every Sunday and Wednesday before the service is a time of fellowship and refreshments like tea, coffee, and biscuits.  Please feel free to come, enjoy the fellowship, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee as we prepare for the service to begin.

The Sunday morning service is a time where you may participate in the encouraging and refreshing music.  We have hymnals available to use and you will be most edified by joining us in song.  Special music prepared by a small group or individual for the service will uplift your spirit.  Following the song service, announcements, and special music is always a message preached from the Word of God by Pastor Williams.  The message will be helpful, relevant, and will challenge your heart.

Wednesday nights are our Prayer and Bible study time.  This is a time where we once again participate in singing, and then enjoy a brief time in prayer.  The service always includes an in depth Bible study on many topics, books of the Bible, or subjects.  This time gives us the opportunity to learn what the Bible says in depth about every area of our lives.

Whether you come for a Sunday morning service or our Wednesday night Bible study we want you to enjoy the service and know that you have been blessed for coming.

Must I give in the offering?

No.  We don’t expect our guests to give an offering.  Our hearts desire is to serve you and be a blessing to you as our gift to you for coming.

We hope to see you in the very next service and would count it a privilege to get to know you.  We pray that you will find a place at Grace and feel at home here.  If there is another question that you have that we missed, please contact us at 07500 935961.  Please do come and grow with us here at Grace Baptist Church.
